Mileage tracker apps for Canada, compared
Four apps that log business kilometres for a CRA logbook, side by side on the questions that decide the choice: whether you need an account, what runs inside the app, how a trip starts, whether the CRA tiers are built in, French, and what it costs. Every cell about another app comes from a page listed below; where we did not check, the cell says so.

Which one fits you
Odie fits if
- You use an iPhone (iOS 17 or later).
- You want nothing to sign up for, and your trips kept on your phone.
- You file in Canada or the United States and want the CRA or IRS rate applied per trip.
- You or your accountant work in French.
- You want trips to start by themselves from your car, with no hardware to buy.
Look at the others if
- You need Android or a web dashboard: Odie has neither.
- You manage a team’s mileage: Odie has no team features.
- You want a full expense and receipt manager beyond vehicle costs.
Which of these each app offers is on its own site; the table above lists what we checked.
Start with what rules an app out
Odie runs on the iPhone only (iOS 17 or later), has no web dashboard and no team plan, and cannot import trips from another app. If you need Android, a manager who reviews everyone’s drives, or a browser view of your log, pick one of the other three and confirm the feature on their site.
Then the rows that differ
Whether an account is required, what third-party code runs in the app, whether the CRA tiers are applied per trip, and whether the app and its report exist in French. Those four rows are where the apps are furthest apart. Price comes last: the free tiers differ in what they count, so compare the row, not the headline.
Questions
Which mileage tracker is best for Canada?
The one that fits how you work. Odie fits if you use an iPhone, want no account, work in English or French, and want the CRA tiers applied for you. If you need Android, a web dashboard or a team plan, Odie is not the one; the table above shows what each app does, with the page each fact was read from.
Which of these apps has the CRA tiers built in?
Odie prices each trip at the CRA rate of its date, with the 5,000 km threshold counted per calendar year. Everlance’s help centre says the CRA rate is entered by hand. We did not check MileIQ or Driversnote on this point.
Do any of them work without an account?
Of the four, only Odie does not ask for one. MileIQ, Driversnote and Everlance each require an account.
Why only these three other apps?
They are the three we have checked page by page, each with its own comparison and source list. When we check another app the same way, it joins the table.
Is Odie available now?
Yes. Odie is on the App Store, free to start; Odie Pro is a subscription billed by Apple.
